National Housing Trust (NHT)

The National Housing Trust (NHT) was established in 1976 to increase and enhance the stock of available housing in Jamaica as well as providing financial assistance to the most needy of buyers who wish to build, to buy or to repair their homes.

All employed and self employed persons in Jamaica are required to make statutory contributions to NHT.

Amount of each contribution is based on contributor’s salary.

Contributors who are in good standing may apply after 1 year of contributions to NHT.

NHT will lend up to JA$7.5 million (CA$75,000) per qualifying borrower – up to JA$21 million for three qualifying borrowers purchasing the home.
